2022 Community Impact Report
Each year, our Partnership releases a Community Impact Report to shine a light on the work that each of our Partners in Tucson and across the state of Arizona as we work towards our mission of enhancing the way we live by fundamentally changing the way we talk about death.
Walking Each Other Home: Cultural Practices at End of Life
The Southwest Folklife Alliance’s End of Life: Continuum Project, provided a rich exhibition immersion through videos, images, stories, installations, and interactions at the Arizona State Museum located at the University of Arizona from September 2022 – February 2023. The success of this exhibition is showcased and encapsulated into this booklet to memorialize the stories and traditions of End-of-Life practices in Southern Arizona and the Southwest cultures.
CCHS Foundation Homelessness Needs Assessment
Through funding from the Arizona End of Life Care Partnership and United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona, CCHS Foundation conducted an assessment on the end-of-life care needs of those experiencing homelessness in Tucson, Arizona. The results of this assessment illustrate elevated health risks and personal loss among those experiencing homelessness, as well as significant interest in end-of-life care planning. Community Listening Sessions Report
This year, we funded research understand the end-of-life experiences and preferences of Southern Arizona community members who either have been systematically excluded and underrepresented or individuals who work closely with those nearing end-of-life for the Arizona End of Life Care Partnership. The findings of these community listening sessions have been compiled in this report to be utilized by our Partnership to inform the outreach and education we provide to people across Southern Arizona.
